Every day we see world news that reminds us the democratic
form of government is both a blessing and a responsibility.
Some nations are involved in forming democratic policy procedures
for the first time. We are fortunate to experience the dynamics
of the democratic process more than 200 years after the US
Constitution was written. We still have the opportunity to
contribute to policy being made that affects us as individuals,
families and communities.
For democracy to best serve the people, individuals and families
need to be engaged. In this toolkit, the AAFCS Public Policy
Committee presents information and tools designed to empower
effective action to support legislation and policies favorable
to our concerns as family and consumer sciences professionals.
