For over 40 years, the Family & Consumer Sciences Research Journal (FCSRJ) has been the periodical of choice for specialists in every segment of the field. The FCSRJ recognizes high-quality research through its Outstanding Paper and Best Paper Awards (established in 2009) and the Emerging Scholar Award (established in 2010).  AAFCS is pleased to announce the following recipients:

  • FCSRJ Winner The 2015 Outstanding Paper Award is given to Dr. Susan K. Walker (pictured left), University of Minnesota, and Dr. Heeran Kim, Sookmyung Women’s University.  Their paper, "Family Educators' Technology Use and Factors Influencing Technology Acceptance Attitudes" was published in June 2015 (Volume 43, Issue 4).  





  • FCSRJ Winner The 2015 Emerging Scholar is Dr. Brandon Burr (pictured left), University of Central Oklahoma.  His paper, “How Do Time and Vocational Stress Influence Attitudes toward Relationship Education?" was published in December 2015 (Volume 44, Issue 2).  





  • Best Paper Awards were given to other authors for their research in seven content areas.

The FCSRJ is published four times a year by Wiley-Blackwell.  Since 2009, Dr. Sharon DeVaney has served as editor of the Family & Consumer Sciences Research Journal.  Dr. Devaney is Professor Emeritus at Purdue University.  Under her leadership, the journal has maintained its timely production schedule and its superior reputation for publication of high quality research.
