2012 Distinguished Service Award Roma Jean Bradburn, "Dedicated to Service" Roma Jean's career began in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she dedicated 35 years as a FCS teacher and contributed so many ways to her community. During her 47 years of membership in AAFCS, she served as Indiana Affiliate President in 1998 and chaired the Indiana Centennial Gala Committee, raising more than $3,000 to support the celebration in 2009. At the national level, she has attended many AAFCS annual conferences, serving on multiple occasions as a delegate and senator and Affiliate President's Unit Recorder. She has been a member of several national committees, served as a juror for the Teacher of the Year and Leaders Award, and for conference educational sessions. Roma Jean is the current leader of the Community of History and Archives, and chair-elect of the Communities Coordinating Team (CCT). She is also co-chair of the Local Arrangements Committee for the 2012 AAFCS Annual Conference. Roma Jean has been recognized for her leadership at the district, state and national levels: 1975 IHEA Lamplighter Award, 2000 INAFCS Leader Award, 2001 AAFCS National Leader Award nominee, 2003 District II/B INAFCS Honor Award nominee, 2003 INAFCS Honor Award, and 2010 INAFCS "Excellence in Achievement and Service" Special Award. Her dedication to the Indiana affiliate is unparalleled. She provided leadership and AAFCS is proud to honor Roma Jean Bradburn as a Distinguished Service Award Recipient.
