CALL FOR JURORS

The Awards and Recognition Committee is actively seeking volunteers to review 2012 Award season applications. Interested members are asked to complete the application form and submit it to Roxana Marissa Ayona, governance manager, at RAyona@aafcs.org.

The Award and Recognition Committee is happy to announce that the 2012 Application Process is now open. Please read the guidelines of the award, or grant, or fellowship and/or scholarship you intend to apply to in order to fully understand the requiment and the online application process.

The deadline for submission is Tuesday, January 17, 2012.

Message from the Awards and Recognition Committee Chair

It’s hard to believe the AAFCS award, grant, fellowship, and scholarship program has come so far since the Board decided in late 2006 to approve a one-time project to study and streamline all processes of the program. At that time, applications and nominations were being collected by snail mail; now, most are online. This gives submitters more time to complete their work, creates an electronic “receipt” for each submission, requires less labor than processing paper, and provides jurors with instant access to their work. . .More

Please note:
  • An award is defined as a merit honor based on performance and on contributions to the field of family and consumer sciences.
  • A grant is defined as financial support given for research studies in family and consumer sciences.
  • A fellowship is financial support from an endowment given to a student for graduate study in family and consumer sciences.
  • A scholarship is financial support from an endowment given to a student for undergraduate study in family and consumer sciences.
  • If a particular award, grant, fellowship, or scholarship is not listed in the 2012 programs section of the website as being offered in 2012, it is not being offered in 2012 (even if it was offered in the past!)
  • An award, grant, fellowship, or scholarship that is not offered in 2012 will be offered again in the future.
  • If no qualified candidate is identified for a particular award, grant, fellowship, or scholarship offered in 2012, it will not be awarded in 2012.
  • AAFCS reserves the first right of refusal to publish any developed materials resulting from AAFCS awards, grants, fellowships, or scholarships.
