Affiliate Certification Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a contact person for information requests about Professional Development Units (PDU) and educational activities, such as giving the online location of forms to complete and AAFCS Headquarters contact information for further questions/information.
  2. Encourage affiliate members to become Certified in Family and Consumer Sciences (CFCS).
  3. Serves as a liaison between the AAFCS Certification staff (acting on behalf of the Council for Certification) and the Affiliate President.
  4. Serve as a liaison between the AAFCS Certification staff (acting on behalf of the Council for Certification) and the Chair of the Affiliate Student Unit.
  5. Is a member of the Affiliate Board of Directors and reports on professional testing, CFCS, and Pre-PAC activities at Affiliate's Board Meetings.
  6. Uses Affiliate newletters and/or email/list serves as communication tools to recommend association activities for which PDUs can be acquired and provides information/news related to assessment and certification.
  7. Remains current on professional and pre-professional assessment and certification processes.
  8. Informs FCS professionals in the Affiliate'ss area about Pre-Professional Assessment and Certification (Pre-PAC) opportunities and benefits for students, secondary and post-secondary FCS education, and business/industry.
  9. Understands that It is not the coordinator's responsibility to provide professional development opportunities or to function as a record keeper for an individuals.
