Educational Objectives

Participants in the AAFCS 100th Annual Conference will be able to:

  1. Build on the reputation earned and knowledge gained over the 100-year history of AAFCS to help AAFCS sustain its future.
  2. Examine sustainability at the individual, family, organizational, and community levels.
  3. Incorporate knowledge gained about sustainability into programming that promotes alternatives to excessive consumption.
  4. Analyze how decisions and behaviors affect natural resources, esthetic qualities, social diversity, and economic development.
  5. Investigate the influence of human and social capital on current and future generations from a national and global perspective.
  6. Assess the current roles of family and consumer sciences professionals and recommend changes for a sustainable future.
