Learn more about the guidelines for this year's submissions:In addition to theme-based educational session proposals, all proposals for board or business meetings, meal functions, showcases or displays, and sessions of special interest had to be submitted through the online proposal submission system. These proposals will be evaluated for inclusion in the conference program by the Annual Conference Program Advisory Committee, subject to the availability of meeting times and space.

DEFINITIONS OF OTHER TYPES OF PROPOSALS
Board or Business Meeting
- Submitted by an official AAFCS entity (community, committee, affiliate, council, etc.), a proposed AAFCS Community, or group related to AAFCS (FCSEA, CAFCS, etc.). Preference given to AAFCS entities.
- Submitted by an official AAFCS entity (community, committee, affiliate, council, etc.), a proposed AAFCS Community, or group related to AAFCS (FCSEA, CAFCS, etc.). Preference given to AAFCS entities.
- Is no longer than 90 minutes.
- A 90-minute block for using tabletop displays or posters to present information.
Examples include (each entity below requests and reviews individual proposals to
present at the event):
- Community of Colleges, Universities & Research (CUR) Research Poster Session and Oral Research Presentations (Individual proposals to present due 12/15/11)
- Undergraduate Student Research Poster Session (Individual proposals to present due 3/1/12)
- Community of Apparel, Textiles & Design (ATD) Juried Showcase and Exhibition (Individual proposals to present due 12/15/11)
- Community of Elementary, Secondary & Adult Education (ESAE) Curriculum Showcase (Individual proposals to present due 3/15/12)
- Is not blind reviewed but is evaluated for selection by Annual Conference Program Advisory Committee.
- Adds value to the conference.
- Submitted by an individual AAFCS member, official AAFCS entity (community, committee, affiliate, council, etc.), a proposed AAFCS Community, or a group related to AAFCS (FCSEA, CAFCS, etc.).
- Is no longer than 60 minutes.
- Possibly does not fit conference theme.
- Examples include testing, credentialing, leadership and fundraising training sessions, and sessions on emerging FCS issues.

Before you begin submitting your proposal(s) online, be sure you have the following information:

- Membership status and membership number, if applicable
- Credential(s) in family and consumer sciences and other relevant credentials or degrees
- Years of professional experience
Session(s)/Event(s)
- Title (max. 150 characters)
- Description (max. 500 characters)

- Anticipated number of attendees
- AV and room set-up needs
PROPOSALS ACCEPTED ONLINE ONLY
AAFCS uses an online proposal management and processing system for submission of all sessions and events. The proposal submission system closed on October 17th, 2011 at 11:59pm.
