Thanks for joining us in Dallas! Below, please find presentations and handouts from some of this year's meal function presenters!

This year, all Full and Student registrations include a ticket to the opening welcome reception, "Boots, Buck$ & BBQ", the Tuesday "FITtalks" Lunch and Learn, and Wednesday's Capstone Luncheon! One-Day Registrations include one of these meal functions. You may purchase additional tickets to these events when you register.

Kick up your heels, snack on Texas-inspired small bites, and round up personal finance and resource info at this fun and casual welcome reception! One ticket is included in each Full, Student, and Monday-Only registration. Additional tickets may be purchased.

Community of Colleges, Universities and Research Breakfast and Business Meeting, 7:00am - 8:00am, $27

Join the Community of Colleges, Universities and Research at this breakfast to plan strategies and activities for the coming year.

Community of Elementary, Secondary, and Adult Education (ESAE) National Teacher of the Year Luncheon, Sponsored by Goodheart-Willcox, 12:00pm - 1:15pm, $45


Honor the 2017 National Teacher of the Year, as well as Merit Finalist and Affiliate Teachers of the Year, at the Community of ESAE Luncheon! Megan Whitworth Palmer, 2016 AAFCS National Teacher of the Year will be our guest speaker.

"How Business Impacts Your Financial Fitness" Luncheon, Sponsored by the Communities of Business and Entrepreneurship, Partners in Home and Community, and Non-Traditional Careers, 12:00pm - 1:15pm, $45

Speakers from the Communities of Business and Entrepreneurship, Partners in Home and Community, and Non-Traditional Careers will discuss how a variety of businesses impact an individual's personal financial well-being.

Kappa Omicron Nu and Phi Upsilon Omicron Luncheon, 12:00pm - 1:15pm, $45

At this luncheon, hear from the recipient of the Coordinating Council of Honor Societies Undergraduate Research Paper Award, receive updates, and honor awardees of the two college honor societies.

"Student Stories: The Move to the United States" Luncheon, Sponsored by the Community of Global Perspectives, 12:00pm - 1:15pm, $45

During this luncheon, a panel of former students who have immigrated to the United States from other countries will tell their stories. Participants will be asked to reflect on ways in which they could contribute to the success of all students, particularly those who immigrate. Leave with practical suggestions for ways in which you can use your expertise to address the AAFCS Resolution on Unaccompanied Minors Entering the US.

"50 Years of AAFCS: Honoring Our Milestone Members" Dessert Reception, 3:45pm - 5:00pm, $25 (TIME CHANGE)

Making a lasting commitment to one's profession by way of membership in an association gives in many ways. For the individual, it fosters relationships and builds a network of peers who share a career passion. To the association, it gives a solid base of supporters who sustain the work that helps professionals and students strengthen their skills. Join us as we honor our members and learn from those who have achieved 50 years of AAFCS membership as of June 2017. Dessert will be served. Open to all; first-time 50-year members being honored in 2017 will receive a complimentary ticket.

National Coalition for Black Development in Family and Consumer Sciences Banquet, 7:30pm - 9:30pm, $65

Recognize the accomplishments of Coalition members, as well as contributions of the Coalition to the mission of family and consumer sciences, at this semi-formal dinner.

"It's a Numbers Game" Breakfast, Sponsored by the Community of Extension, 7:00am - 8:00am, $27

During breakfast, a representative from each state will highlight the financial planning programming and activities that state and county Extension agents are providing for clientele.

At this fast-paced luncheon, hear brief "FITtalks" from three experts with new ideas and trends to inspire your work. One ticket included in all Full, Student, and Tuesday-Only registrations.

Awards Dinner: Celebrating STARS of AAFCS, 7:00pm - 9:00pm, $70

Step out in style for a very special evening, where we celebrate some of the brightest STARS in AAFCS and family and consumer sciences! Following an elegant dinner, learn more about our outstanding 2017 Distinguished Service Awardees, Leaders, New Achievers, Fellowship and Scholarship recipients, and First-Time 50-Year Members. Semi-formal attire recommended. Two tickets included for each DSA awardee being honored and one for all other award recipients.

Wednesday, June 28th

Capstone Luncheon, 11:00am - 12:45pm, $45

Closing luncheon featuring keynote address from Richard Cordray, Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. One ticket included in all Full, Student, and Wednesday-Only registrations.
