Speakers from the Communities of Business and Entrepreneurship, Partners in Home and Community, and Non-Traditional Careers will discuss how a variety of businesses impact an individual's personal financial well-being.
At this luncheon, hear from the recipient of the Coordinating Council of Honor Societies Undergraduate Research Paper Award, receive updates, and honor awardees of the two college honor societies.
"Student Stories: The Move to the United States" Luncheon, Sponsored by the Community of Global Perspectives, 12:00pm - 1:15pm, $45
During this luncheon, a panel of former students who have immigrated to the United States from other countries will tell their stories. Participants will be asked to reflect on ways in which they could contribute to the success of all students, particularly those who immigrate. Leave with practical suggestions for ways in which you can use your expertise to address the AAFCS Resolution on Unaccompanied Minors Entering the US.
"50 Years of AAFCS: Honoring Our Milestone Members" Dessert Reception, 3:45pm - 5:00pm, $25 (TIME CHANGE)
Making a lasting commitment to one's profession by way of membership in an association gives in many ways. For the individual, it fosters relationships and builds a network of peers who share a career passion. To the association, it gives a solid base of supporters who sustain the work that helps professionals and students strengthen their skills. Join us as we honor our members and learn from those who have achieved 50 years of AAFCS membership as of June 2017. Dessert will be served. National Coalition for Black Development in Family and Consumer Sciences Banquet, 7:30pm - 9:30pm, $65

Following an elegant dinner, learn more about our outstanding 2017 Distinguished Service Awardees, Leaders, New Achievers, Fellowship and Scholarship recipients, and First-Time 50-Year Members. Semi-formal attire recommended. Two tickets included for each DSA awardee being honored and one for all other award recipients.
