2008 AAFCS Scholarships
Program
The Association encourages undergraduate study in family and
consumer sciences and its subspecialties, such as textiles
and clothing, nutrition, institutional management/food service
systems administration, consumer studies, Cooperative Extension,
and family and consumer sciences communication, education,
and administration. Scholarships are awarded to individuals
who have exhibited the potential to make contributions to
the family and consumer sciences profession.
Before purchasing a National Undergraduate Scholarship Application,
a potential applicant should consider the following eligibility
requirements:
- Potential applicant is a citizen or permanent
resident of the United States.
- Potential applicant is planning to pursue
or is currently pursuing a degree in family and consumer
sciences or its specialties at the undergraduate level on
a full-time (as defined by the university) basis.
- Potential applicant is currently enrolled
in an undergraduate program that will continue into the
coming academic year or potential applicant has applied
to or been admitted to an undergraduate program for the
coming academic year.
- Potential applicant is willing to commit
himself or herself to meeting the specific requirements
of the scholarship for which he or she is applying.
A non-refundable application fee of $40 must be received by
AAFCS by January 7, 2008, or the National Undergraduate
Scholarship application will not be processed. Payments can
be made by credit card, check, or money order, but must be accompanied
by a Scholarship
Payment Form.
- Deadline for postmark of application packages
for National Undergraduate Scholarships is January 7,
2008.

Please note:
- A scholarship is an endowment given to
a student for undergraduate study in family and consumer
sciences.
- If no qualified candidate is identified
for a particular scholarship that is being offered in 2008,
it will not be awarded in 2008.
- AAFCS reserves the first right of refusal
to publish any developed materials resulting from AAFCS
awards, grants, fellowships, or scholarships.
