Dine In Day

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2020 FCS Day, "Dining In for #FCSsuccess," on December 3rd!


The Dine in Day special event, Cakes
and Quilts Birthday Celebration, was a success with over 265 registered to participate virtually! If you missed this event -- no worries! Here is the link to the December 3rd recording of the fun virtual celebration we had together!

LynDee is a self-motivated learner with a BA in K-12 education from Western Washington University and an MA in Textile History and Quilt Studies from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She has taught and volunteered at all levels from K-12 in schools in Washington and Nebraska, and at the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She enjoys presenting her research at Washington State and California conferences and has had original clothing and quilt creations shown at the Juried Showcase for Textiles, Design and Apparel at the National AAFCS Conference. Her writings have appeared in the California and Washington State FCS Affiliate newsletters, the Costume Society of America’s Western region e-letter, and the Quilters’ Newsletter Magazine.  And you may have read one of her book reviews in the AAFCS Journal or her commentaries on life during the pandemic through Washington State FCS sites online.  Her Hoffman Challenge quilts and garments have been shown around the U.S. LynDee is a Washington State Affiliate Executive Board member.

     Sharon Davis

Sharon's education and experience include: Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) education consultant, (1993 to present), Director, Program and Membership Development, Home Baking Association.Food/Nutrition Educator/Spokesperson 500+ foods, nutrition and baking youth & adult seminars or workshops across U.S. Home Baking Association; Wheat Foods Council; Kansas Wheat; United Soybean Board; Campfire USA. Family & Consumer Sciences: ACTE; FCCLA; Extension, 4-H; Boys & Girls Clubs; NAA; PBS-TV Creative Living Educational resources authored: Preschool, Elementary, Secondary, Career, Tech, Culinary education-level. Professional memberships and volunteer service: American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences Alliance; Kansas FACS affiliates; Assoc Career & Tech Education (ACTE) and K-ACTE (Assoc of Career & Technical Educators; Kansas affiliate) Society for Nutrition Education/Kansas Nutrition Council National Association of Educators of Young Children (NAEYC), National Afterschool Association (NAA), Volunteer: Riley Co.
