The AFSA Education Foundation developed MoneySKILL in 2002 as one of the first online personal finance curriculums. MoneySKILL is designed to educate youth and young adults about money management fundamentals and provide them with the skills and knowledge to make sound financial decisions. In this presentation, we will discuss the value and impact of financial education as illustrated through recent research. We will also demonstrate how to utilize the free MoneySKILL curriculum in your classroom and share additional educator resources.

Presenter will discuss:

  1. The value and impact of financial education as illustrated through recent research,
  2. The specific impact of the MoneySKILL program on students’ personal finance knowledge and behaviors.
  3. How to set up and customize their own free MoneySKILL virtual classroom.
  4. Additional free personal finance teaching materials and resources from the AFSA Education Foundation and how to incorporate them into a MoneySKILL course.
