Northeast Network



The Northeast Network facilitates communication and collaboration with Family and Consumer Sciences state action teams to recruit, prepare and support FCS education in the Northeast region states.  State action teams include FCS educators (secondary & higher education), professional associations, student organizations, Extension, and FCS partners (education, public service and industry).  The Northeast Network provides an opportunity for FCS professionals to share information, resources, strategies and programming to support Family and Consumer Sciences Education in the Northeast region.

Northeast Network for Family and Consumer Sciences Education

The Northeast FCS Mentoring Partnership provides new Family and Consumer Sciences Educators peer support with experienced Family and Consumer Sciences Educators during the school year. The goal is to provide a quality mentoring experience for new FCS educators to promote FCS success in the educational setting.

Northeast FCS Educator Virtual Conference (Feb. 2022) 

The Northeast FCS Educators Virtual Conference “Making a Difference with Family and Consumer Sciences” provided a unique professional development opportunity for Family and Consumer Sciences educators in the Northeast region. 

Northeast FCS State Action Team Plans Workshop (May 2022) 
The Northeast Network sponsored a FCS State Action Team Workshop to assist and support state action teams in developing new plans to “recruit, prepare and support FCS educators”. Following the virtual workshop, FCS leaders organized state workshops to complete a State Action Team Plan.  Each state presented and shared their plan with the Northeast Network in a virtual meeting.

Northeast Network for FCS Education

The Northeast Network for Family and Consumer Sciences Education provides new Family and Consumer Sciences Educators peer support with experienced Family and Consumer Sciences Educators during the school year.  The goal is to provide a quality mentoring experience for new FCS educators to promote FCS success in the educational setting.  The program was developed and implemented by the Northeast Network, with funding support from the National Partnership for Recruiting, Preparing and Support FCS Educators (USDA/NIFA grant)
