Jamie's Biography:
If you were to have asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up back in 8th grade, I would have told you I wanted to be a baker. That question is exactly what my FCS teacher had asked me on the first day of our Discovering Family and Consumer Sciences class. And let me be the first to say that my decision to be a baker quickly changed over the next year as I began to take more FCS classes and saw the amazing impact it made on students and myself.
I decided to pursue this new dream of becoming an FCS Educator through Wayne State College. I have learned so much about FCS and have been given many opportunities to grow as a professional in this career. In 2019, I was elected the Vice President for our campus group AFCSP (Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Professionals) and in 2020, I have been able to step into the role of President. I attended the 2019 NAFCS Conference and was able to meet many FCS professionals across Nebraska. This year (2020), I have been elected to be a Student Representative on the NAFCS Executive Council and I could not be more excited to see what that has in store!

Hobbies:
In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, spending time with my family and friends, painting, and watching whatever show I have chosen to binge-watch on Netflix.

Tyra's Biography:
Family and Consumer Sciences have always been a huge part of my life! From working at my family's restaurant in St. Edward, NE to being very involved in FCCLA, FCS is a part of everything that I do. Being a part of AAFCS has helped me grow as a leader and an FCS professional through professional development opportunities. I look forward to being able to further connect with FCS professionals across the state through NAFCS.

Hobbies:
In my free time, I love to bake, cook, hike, spend time with family and friends, garden, fish, watch Netflix, embroider, and read.
