Meal Function Guidelines

Meal Function Guidelines

The online proposal submission system has closed! Notifications of proposal status will be emailed to submitters only by mid-January 2020. If you have any questions, please email us at

Other opportunities to present in Baltimore will be posted soon--stay tuned.

All Meal Function proposals must be submitted through the online proposal submission system. Proposals will be evaluated for inclusion in the conference program based on merit and subject to the availability of meeting times and space.

There are several options for meal function submissions:

Luncheon Meal Functions: Please note that ticketed luncheons will occur on Sunday, June 28th, and must include educational programming. Luncheon proposals will be evaluated and selected based on educational content AND their fit within a conference strand. Space is limited and not all meals will be accepted. A luncheon proposal is no longer than 75 minutes and may be submitted by an official AAFCS entity (community, committee, affiliate, council, etc.), a proposed AAFCS Community, or a group related to AAFCS (FCSEA, CAFCS, etc.). If not selected for a luncheon slot, meals may be re-evaluated for a breakfast or dinner function time slot.

All Other Meal Functions (breakfast/dinner/reception): Ticketed breakfasts will be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, and ticketed dinners will be scheduled on Saturday. Receptions may be scheduled Saturday or Sunday. If you have a preference for the date/time of your function, please include that information in the proposal submission. Although we cannot guarantee all requests will be met, we will do our best.

This year, Meal Function submissions must fit into one of the five conference strands! Click on this link to learn more about these strands.
