Last fall, Advance CTE co-hosted the CTE Forward Summit in partnership with nine national organizations, bringing together 200 leaders to set a new vision for the future of Career Technical Education (CTE). It was clear that now is the time to craft a bold vision that envisions a world where each learner can access and be successful in high-quality CTE programs without any limitations or barriers.

Without Limits: A Shared Vision for the Future of Career Technical Education (CTE Without Limits) lays out five inter-connected and equally critical principles, foundational commitments and a call to action for national, state and local CTE leaders.

The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) is pleased to join Advance CTE and 37 other organizations in supporting this vision.  Only through a shared commitment and action at all levels can we realize the possibility and aspiration of a new career preparation ecosystem that supports each learner on a limitless path to career success.

As the only professional association dedicated to family and consumer sciences students and professionals from both multiple practice settings and content areas, the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) supports Without Limits: A Shared Vision for the Future of Career Technical Education.  Family and Consumer Sciences professionals help learners develop essential knowledge and skills to lead better lives, be work and career ready, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.   AAFCS appreciates the vision’s collaborative and systemic approach to strengthen and ensure career exploration, high-quality career preparation, equity and access, and lifelong learning in all areas of Career and Technical Education.
