Engaging in the AAFCS Leadership Academy

The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), Community for Building Leadership Capacity, will soon launch its 2025 Leadership Academy and has issued a call for applicants to participate in the program. Interested FCS professionals are encouraged to apply soon and join a going list of leaders who got their start using the leadership skills and training they received from the Academy.

Deadline to apply: November 1, 2024  

The Academy is for new professionals who wish to enhance their leadership skills. (Preference given to professionals with 7 years or less of membership in AAFCS.)

The 2025 Leadership Academy will begin with virtual sessions starting in April 2025. The Academy will be held in-person two days prior to the 2025 AAFCS Annual Conference in Kansas City with sessions also held during the Annual Conference and throughout the year. The skills learned in the Leadership Academy are applicable in all Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) settings and beyond including, but not limited to, secondary and higher education, business, research, and cooperative extension. The Leadership Academy enables Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) professionals to advance their leadership skills, abilities, talents, and strengths while networking with other professionals and learning about leadership opportunities in AAFCS.
