Community of FCS Teacher Education in Higher Education

Our Purpose

The purpose of the FCS Teacher Education Community is to support the AAFCS mission by facilitating a virtual network among FCS teacher educators to enhance the quality of FCS teacher education programs. The goals of the FCS Teacher Education Community will initially reflect the goals of the Education and Technology Division of AAFCS, whereby (1) excellence in teaching and research are recognized; (2) information pertaining to FCS Standards is shared; and (3) curricular issues specific to FCS teacher education are addressed.

FCS Education

The goal of the community is to support the dissemination of information and resources to recruit, prepare and support FCS educators though various avenues. The community promotes the FCSED.net website to offer resources and the directory of FCS Education certified programs. The promotion of FCS education is important to the community. Therefore, the community encourages the celebration of FCS Educator Day. We want to promote the great things happening in FCS Education.

Attend Conference!

Do you have creative lesson plans you would like to share with AAFCS? The FCS Teacher Education in Higher Education has an opportunity for you. Submit a lesson plan for the FCSED site or online repository and compete to attend the AAFCS National meeting with a travel stipend and conference fee reimbursement in 2026.
